– William Shakespeare
At Biddick Primary School, we want our children to develop a love for language through the spoken and written word.
We are committed to nurturing:
- confident speakers, who can express themselves and communicate with others effectively;
- enthusiastic readers, who love books and read a range of texts with confidence, accuracy, fluency and understanding – for pleasure and for information;
- skilful writers, who can write in a range of styles appropriate to the audience and purpose.
Our English curriculum is centred around high quality texts to inspire and engage. We want to develop our children’s understanding of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing and provide them with the opportunities to apply and reinforce their skills in English lessons and across other curricular areas.
Please use your child’s year group page to find out what they are learning about each half term.
