It is a staggering thought, but in primary schools across the UK eight or nine pupils in every class will have already developed tooth decay. That’s approaching a quarter of a million children in each year group and around 3.3 million youngsters aged 0-14.
Here at Biddick Primary we recognise that, working together with parents and professionals, we have an important role to play in educating young people about healthy lifestyles- including their oral care. As part of our health and wellbeing curriculum, children will receive guidance on oral care in both Key Stages 1 and 2.
As a health-promoting school we advocate healthy snacks and lunches, as well as providing tooth-friendly drinks: milk in EYFS and water in Key Stages One and Two.
